Cristina’s touch, words, smile, and caring attitude were so healing to me.
I am a retired RN who was admitted from ER due to sub-sternal chest pain at home at 4:40am. About a month ago, I had just returned home from Austin, TX. Where I lived with my daughter’s family, this enabled me to seek medical expertise at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. For my two cancers, lymphoma and colon cancer.

In spite of my daughter’s excellent ability to be my medical advocate and caretaker, I returned with a deconditioned body and mind. The cancers are in remission but the trips from Austin to Houston, many, many tests and procedures left me in a deconditioned state physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Cristina’s touch, words, smile, and caring attitude were so healing to me. She did not know that she was ministering to one so frail and nearly “beaten down” by her long cancer journey, which has affected my relationships with friends and family. I seemed to thrive so much under her care that I did not want to be discharged! I was sad when it was time to go home, hoping to see her again. She is an outstanding nurse.
