Lydia provides extraordinary care daily to all patients and her peers. One of our peers noted that Lydia is very reliable, intelligent, hardworking, kind, and has a big heart. She is always smiling and helpful in any way to all of our patients and staff. She has made many special connections with our Oncology and Infusion patients. She is one of the most compassionate and caring nurses I have worked with in my tenure with Carilion. There are many situations I could mention that Lydia has made a meaningful difference for both her patients and her peers. One in particular was a patient having a leg cramp during her infusion at Riverside 1 and after many attempts of trying to get the patient comfortable with alternatives she took the extra step and literally ran from Riverside 1 to Riverside 3 to the cafeteria for a pack of mustard for the patient. This is something the team and patient will always remember about Lydia going the "extra mile" for her patient(s). It is a true privilege to work with someone as compassionate and caring as Lydia.
