Elizabeth went to the dollar store and bought supplies to decorate a patient's room for her birthday. The room is decked out with decorations and happy birthday streamers! This particular patient has spent almost a year in the hospital and does not often have the company of friends or family. I know that Elizabeth's efforts make a difference in her patients' lives and she deserves to be recognized.

To say that Elizabeth is a ray of sunshine is an understatement. As her primary preceptor during orientation, she always blew me away with her compassion, attitude, and genuine smile. She makes certain she is sure of something before acting and seeks to fully participate in the plan of care. Elizabeth consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and orientees. Most recently, Elizabeth realized it was her patient's birthday the next day when she was back. This patient has been on our unit for almost a year and is well known by all of the staff. Elizabeth went out of her way to buy birthday decorations after work to decorate the patient's entire room. She even got a birthday sash for the patient to wear!! Even if this patient was not aware of what was being done, I know it was appreciated by her family. This is only a small example of what Elizabeth does for her patients and families and deserves to be recognized for her work!
