We have had a very lengthy stay and many wonderful nurses have taken care of our son. The nurse that stands out to us the most, in delivering exceptional nursing care, is Priscilla. Priscilla stays focused on the care that our son needs, paying very close attention to any changes in his status and acting quickly. I really appreciate that she stays so calm and handles the situations with confidence. This really helped us as a family be calmer and at ease. Priscilla is also a wonderful patient advocate. There was one day that a tech came in to take a chest x-ray. Priscilla knew another order had just been put in for an abdominal X-ray. She wanted to only move our son once because he was so fragile and get both X-rays done at the same time. So, she made sure that happened, because it was what was in his best interest. There was another day he had an MRI ordered. It was super complicated because he had so many IVs and machines. But Priscilla remained so calm and kept everything under control and kept him safe, even during a very stressful and exhausting shift. I feel very confident and at ease when she is my son’s nurse because every detail will be taken care of in the best manner possible. Priscilla is a very skilled, compassionate, and amazing nurse. She is deserving of this DAISY Award.

Priscilla is my boyfriend’s day nurse. She not only cares about his well-being but prioritizes our mental health too. She is always open to answering a million questions and is the most proactive nurse I have ever met. She has such a motherly love about her that radiates through the way she cares for my boyfriend as a patient. She calls us or the hospital on her days off just to see how he is doing. She has become like family to us through this time and does not hesitate to celebrate with us when my boyfriend is making good progress in his recovery! She also looks for the positives and solutions when things get slippery.
