After arriving there immediately, Kathleen, my nurse, greeted me with a warm, friendly, welcoming smile, asking me about myself and my pain levels.
I was sent to the Riesman building from the ER on Tuesday after spending my whole evening at the ER with a kidney stone. After arriving there immediately, Kathleen, my nurse, greeted me with a warm, friendly, welcoming smile, asking me about myself and my pain levels. This helped me to relax because I spent the last couple of hours having to constantly remind the ER staff that I could not have any Motrin due to my new kidneys. Kathleen was here for prompted and ready to help and she is also 7 months pregnant. So I thought she was tired, but to the contrary, she was up and about and ready for all my needs. It was good to see that type of work ethic. I’ve been a frequent flyer in the hospital given my medical history every now and then you come across someone you want to give their flowers too while they are here an actively working, Kathleen is one person that deserves it. She didn’t see me as a black woman but as a person who needed care. Can I also add the team was so helpful and ready to assist her but I gather that it was so refreshing to see a person along with their team that actually loves their job and makes a person instantly feel better by just their interactions was great. If I return to the hospital I want to return under her direct care because she was beyond nice.
