Amanda's demeanor makes it so easy for a patient, like me, to relax and let go of the tension. There's no way that my skittish mind could argue with a force of nature like Amanda. It is difficult to describe the relief I felt with a nurse who possesses such contagious confidence. When I could rest, assured the nurse "has got it," I could do my part and focus on healing. The peaceful rest that comes from nursing that you can trust to care for you...well, that is priceless and deserves recognition. Anyone who can swoop into ICU and impose their cheerful will on reality is a gem that has surpassed all that one can ask for in a nurse.
