Once in a while, you come across a nurse who is a whole realm above the rest. I felt that way today about Melissa. My husband went in for a procedure to have his pacemaker replaced. What should have been a 2 to 3-hour procedure turned into six. During that entire time, Melissa was either at his bedside or no more than five minutes away. Her care, concern, and friendliness were so genuine and sincere. Never did we feel that she was too busy to see to my husband’s needs or bothered by any questions we had. There is friendliness, and then there is above and beyond friendliness. During our entire stay, Melissa exhibited incredible kindness and compassion and came up with workarounds to get some of his issues taken care of. My husband has been in the hospital several times this year for various reasons. We have seen all levels of care by hospital staff. Melissa’s care today was so exemplary that I could not let the opportunity pass to commend her for her great service and true compassion. Thank you for this opportunity to recognize someone who is not only in the right profession but truly an angel on earth.
