Janna always made my dad smile even when he was not himself. I will never be able to thank her enough for the care, compassion, and patience she showed my dad.
My father was admitted to 3 North for a colon resection. A mass was found several weeks prior to his admission. Saying our family was nervous about his stay was an understatement. We had the privilege of being cared for by Janna during each night of his stay. She was attentive to his pain and did everything she could to keep him comfortable.
My father eventually became confused and was not himself for 2 days. Janna always spoke kindly to my dad, remained patient with him and kept him safe. She never once lost her professionalism. Not only did she advocate for my dad, but she advocated for our family. If we had a question or concern, she did not hesitate to reach out to the doctor.
Each night when Janna would come in at shift change, I was so happy to see her because I knew she was going to take care of my dad like he was her own family. Janna always made my dad smile even when he was not himself. I will never be able to thank her enough for the care, compassion, and patience she showed my dad. She is the true definition of kind and a perfect example of how every nurse should care for their patient. We will never forget what she did for us.
“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.” Philippians 1:3
