Even though my sister was going through such a traumatic experience when she said that simple word, she acknowledged her becoming a first-time mother no matter the situation.
This nurse was my sister's nurse prior to her scheduled c-section. My sister was bounced from antepartum and L&D multiple times due to her worsening preeclampsia until they decided to deliver baby boy at 25 weeks. It was very emotional for my sister, and as I sat in her room with her, being her support person and hearing doctors, nurses, etc., coming in to talk and explain her situation to her. It always brought tears to her eyes, of course. Everyone was amazing and knowledgeable without hesitation. I want to nominate this nurse because even though she was only my sister's nurse for a few hours before she ended her shift, she said one thing I hadn't heard anybody say to my sister within her 3 day stay... and that word was, "Congratulations!". Even though my sister was going through such a traumatic experience when she said that simple word, she acknowledged her becoming a first-time mother no matter the situation. I looked at her and said, "Wow, you're the first person to say that to her!" Thank you.
