Annette has been an excellent role model for the entire team in professionalism, goal setting, and creative thinking to achieve our goals.
Annette has brought innovation, problem-solving, team dynamics, and creative thinking to our department. Annette is always challenging us to improve our performance with our metrics and rewards staff who meet or exceed the goals. In the year I have been here she leads and encourages "out of the box thinking". Some examples:
- She lent a tube feeding pump to a facility for a week to decrease LOS. The patient had difficult insurance, and the reason he had to stay was a lack of equipment. The nursing home ordered the equipment and was waiting for delivery.
- She added an evening position to assist/complete late insurance authorization and manage transport cancellations or delays to improve the discharge by 11 am initiative.
- She is now increasing weekend staff so that discharge numbers and LOS are less impacted by weekend discharges and transport/returns to SNFs/Personal Care Homes.
- She incentivizes the team by rewarding the most accurate EDD and discharge by 11 am with a special lunch with the leader.
- She continues to encourage and gives "Shout Outs" for new fresh ideas that impact LOS's and listens to all staff ideas.
Annette, R, and K are responsive and say, "You can always call me at home" if you have questions or concerns. Being the evening shift, odd things with discharge appeals, APS, or the Department of Aging have happened, and the team leaders are always supportive and helpful when called after hours. In summary, Annette has been an excellent role model for the entire team in professionalism, goal setting, and creative thinking to achieve our goals.
