Hope spent time on several occasions just talking to my dad, addressing his collection of feelings, and trying to understand what was happening with his medical situation.
I am writing this on behalf of my father, a patient in CVICU. From the beginning of my dad’s stay following an unsuccessful procedure, the Nurse Leader has been excellent.

It’s so wonderful to see quality supervisory skills in motion. Being a former supervisor, I know and recognize the good ones. Hope is a standout leader!

You can see the respect and appreciation on the faces of her team - other nurses - as they approach her with a barrage of issues. Her calm and in-control demeanor says it all. She speaks to fellow nurses with wisdom, while understanding their need for growth and helping them to be successful in whatever issue of resolution.

Hope spent time on several occasions just talking to my dad, addressing his collection of feelings, and trying to understand what was happening with his medical situation. It's hard to put into words the mixture of skills, wisdom, and understanding of human behavior - when one is confronted with failing health - that true experience affords when you are on top of your desired profession and constantly helping others to better themselves.

She just gets it. She represents the best form of a supervisor and Nurse Leader. She cares about everything and everyone. She cares compassionately about the patient, her team, the hospital, and the profession.

She embodies your slogan – We Show Up.

What a dedicated professional she is in how she carries out her role. I’ve been so impressed with her and sincerely wish you somehow grow more of her.

On behalf of my father, a 24-year veteran, please extend our sincere appreciation to Hope for her daily, steady influence and development of the wonderful nursing team in CVICU.
