Merry is a passionate and dedicated home health nurse who exemplifies exceptional patient care. Merry goes above and beyond regularly, but unless you were to witness her in action, you would never know the many ways she impacts patients' lives. Merry does not go above and beyond for the recognition or for the gratitude of her efforts, but because she passionately cares and feels in her heart, it is the right thing to do. Merry has a 90-year-old patient who lives by herself in senior living housing. This patient sacrificed following her career goals and sacrificed sleeping on a sofa to raise children that had been left by their biological mother and then their biological father following a divorce. Merry took this patient cupcakes on her 90th birthday so that she would be able to invite friends over from her senior living facility to celebrate her special day with her. Now, moving forward, Merry found out during this week's visit that this patient had ended up spending the Thanksgiving holiday alone after her family had been invited out of town at the last minute. Merry, knowing that her patient was upset and feeling down about the holiday, went and bought the patient cookies and a poinsettia to lift her spirits. The patient was absolutely thrilled that at the age of 90, she received her very first-ever holiday poinsettia! These are just a couple of the many ways that Merry touches the hearts of her patients; it is no wonder that her patients adore her!
