Jordan put everything together in a multi-faceted approach to my friend's wellness.
He cared for my friend, who is an elderly man with no family but many friends who love him dearly.

For 50 years, he was an ICU nurse and was my husband's mentor when he was in nursing school.  This nurse was relatable to him and me not only as a male nurse but, more importantly, in the all-encompassing, compassionate care he gave.  His technical nursing skills were impeccable, and he was attentive to the basic cares he couldn't manage for himself.  He didn't embarrass or degrade him; he simply dealt with whatever came when it came.

He has many challenges to overcome, not only with his lifestyle but also with people who have ill intentions toward him.  His nurse listened to my concerns and provided additional resources for us to set him up for success at home, i.e. social worker consult, department of aging information, Aurora at Home utilizing both nurse and PT visits, nutritionist, etc.  I appreciated that he took the time to talk through these things with me, and together, we were able to gently approach the issues with my friend. Ultimately, it will be up to my friend to make the changes, but he has all that he needs to be successful.  This nurse put everything together in a multi-faceted approach to my friend's wellness.

As I mentioned, my husband mentored under my friend when he went to nursing school. They went on to work together for several years until my husband moved on. My husband died at the age of 42 of a very rare cancer, but during his cardiac nursing career, he received the Nurse of the Year award twice for ProHealth Care.  I mention this because I recognize my husband's excellent nursing practice in this nurse.  Hold on to him.  Value him and let him shine. He is the type of person you want to represent Aurora.
