Linda is the most highly engaged Chief Nursing Officer Trinity Health Muskegon has had the privilege to call our own. Linda goes beyond...above and beyond, daily. We are in continuous awe of how Linda makes Trinity Muskegon and her nursing colleagues her top priority. The energy and caring compassion she pours into her work is a shining example of the type of leader we all can strive to be. A recent example of this caring compassion was demonstrated in the driveway of our facility outside the ER.

A patient was lost looking for the MSA building. In her fluster, she had opened her trunk and her walker and belongings had scattered behind the vehicle. The Med Surg management team happened upon her, gathered her items, got her vehicle back intact, and attempted to give this patient directions. Linda, assessing the cognitive and emotional needs of the patient at this time, stepped in and offered to guide the patient to the office. The patient was embarrassed about the state of her car and did not want to have anyone ride along. Linda was unaffected and without missing a beat offered to walk to MSA so the patient could follow in her car. Linda even went beyond and ensured that the patient would be seen despite her tardiness from getting lost. Linda continued to keep an eye on this patient and allowed her car to remain in the MSAA parking lot even through Monday.

This patient required further medical intervention once seen in the office and was admitted that day to our facility. I cannot help but think what the outcome would have been for this patient had she missed the appointment and not been evaluated. Linda made this happen for her. Her outcome may not have been favorable without her intervention.
