I can never thank him enough for keeping me calm, and entertained at the same time. This was the best experience I've ever had at any hospital.
Roger was with me in Phase One of Recovery from about 1:25pm until around 3:00pm. He was VERY patient with me, and checked on me every 5 minutes. If he left my side, he was back within one minute. At one point, I kept hearing Roger telling me to take deep breaths. I knew I was awake and stopped breathing a couple of times, but I am sure it was from the pain meds I had been given. He was so calm the entire time. He calmly moved around my room, and got me set up on a cannula. I did ask him what my oxygen levels were at. He was very honest with me and told me that I was at 88 at that time. He was so calm about it! I was put on a cannula for a while, and my oxygen came back up to 96. I was so happy with how honest he was with me, how he kept me informed on my numbers and kept me informed on when I got whatever pain med he gave me. At one point, I started missing my husband very much, not knowing how long my husband had been waiting to see me. I asked Roger when I could see him again. He told me that they were waiting for a bed for me. He had a sense of humor about it, had me smiling, telling me they need to hurry up so you can be with your husband, etc...he kept me smiling and entertained the entire time.

Roger is a DAISY Nurse for his compassion, his help, his patience, his honesty, and the ability to keep me comfortable and keep me calm when I got to go to stage 2. I can never thank him enough for keeping me calm, and entertained at the same time. This was the best experience I've ever had at any hospital. This is why I chose to come back to Medical City Dallas, instead of a hospital back home in Illinois. I know there are compassionate people like Roger. Please give him my many thanks.
