This woman has been one of the best nurses my son has had! She is so friendly! While she had to wait in my son's room, after hanging platelets, we told her that we were going to make root beer floats. She didn't even know what that was. Since she was going to bring the ice cream from the freezer by the nurse's station back in for us, we asked her to bring a cup and spoon for herself so she could try it. And she did! She still had several minutes to watch and make sure he didn't have a bad reaction to the platelets. She laughed her head off at my family's very true stories. I know that the nurses will be nice and friendly while doing their jobs. But Tameka made us feel like we were her family! And she was GOING to take care of her family! My son was laughing and actually having a good time with her. He is dying. There is nothing more they can do for him. So it meant a lot to him to be the person who gave her her first root beer float experience! We both would be happy to call her family! And we both are happy to call her an exceptional nurse. She just has such an energy about her. She gets her job done but just does it with kindness. Her compassion is worn right on her sleeve for all to see!
