Someone who was a stranger just hours before touched our lives and hearts in ways that will last forever. We are still amazed by Reem and the quality of care she provided us and our son.
My husband and I were at the hospital because our son came way too early (at 22 weeks). We knew we wouldn’t be able to take him home, so it was a very strained and difficult situation. The first time I met Reem was right at shift change which also happened to be when the anesthesiologist made it to my room to administer my epidural. I was afraid, exhausted, and anxious. Reem took no time to be assertive and ensure I was as comfortable as possible. It didn’t matter who was in the room or how many people in the room, she made sure my needs were of the utmost importance. When our son arrived, she gave us time with our family, while still checking in to make sure I had all I needed. At the very end, she insisted she wanted to be the one to put together a memory box with mementos for our son. We finally went through the box today and the care and love she left behind in the box was so touching, it’s truly something we’ll never forget and treasure forever. She even took the time to write us a letter. Someone who was a stranger just hours before touched our lives and hearts in ways that will last forever. We are still amazed by Reem and the quality of care she provided us and our son. Not only does Henry Ford need more nurses like Reem, but the world needs more people like Reem. We will be forever grateful for her and kindness.
