Nicola, from the very beginning, was energetic and very positive. I had a really bad experience the night before but then I got Nicola and she was a “god” sent and blessing. Where do I start? Nicola has it all. Passionate, caring, reinforcing, intelligent, explaining everything explained in understandable terms, detailed, knowledgeable about my situation and a very hard worker. I am a manager with 30 years of experience, and I hire and recruit people on my team, so I know what to look for in hard-working and great employees. Besides Nicola having all the other skills and characteristics that make a great nurse, Nicola’s work ethic jumps off the chart. She did things that no other nurses had done for me while at Northside Duluth. I was just amazed that one nurse checked all the boxes which is rare in any nurse or associate. My experience with her came at a time when I needed it, and she improved my feelings and health. I had experienced a few other good nurses, but none of them met her standards. She improved my health, connected to me, and changed my perception of Northside Hospital. Northside needs a lot more nurses like Nicola. I have been at the hospital for close to a week after emergency surgery and to me Nicola is MOST worthy of this award. Thank you for all that you do for your patients and for what you did for me!
