As a first-time mom, I didn't really know what I was doing with a lot of things, but throughout my stay, everything fell into place except for breastfeeding. Joan was my nurse, and she was so kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable. I didn't feel judged when I cried and told her I was overwhelmed. While every nurse we had before Joan was helpful, she had us go back to the basics of breastfeeding, helped me get my daughter latched, and gave me the confidence I needed to take my daughter home. I have told countless friends and family members about Joan, how amazing she was to us, and how I will always be grateful that she was my nurse when I was honestly ready to give up entirely on trying to breastfeed.
