Z is a 19-year-old beautiful female who had great gifts from god, which are art and illness.
When she was admitted to the ICU, she was critically ill, suffering from sepsis and respiratory distress on a mechanical ventilator.
After a couple of months in the ICU, with the support of the team members and all multidisciplinary team, Z’s psychological status has markedly improved
She came to ICU refusing any per OS Feeding, and with the support of the staff nurses, Z now is eating all kinds of different formulas, and she has been given the approval from the physicians to order her favorite dishes from outside the hospital.
Nowadays, Z is one of the ICU family members.
She has been integrated with the staff members to the extent that they share all their special moments; using her talent, she expressed her gratitude for all ICU NURSES by creating special tailor-made gifts for any occasion related to the nurses.
The hospital supported Z’s talent. Through conducting an art gallery, to show all her artistic creations to high-level society and artistic members in Saudi, her reaction and appreciation was something that cannot be described.
Z became a celebrity and an example of how a great will can be the whole reason for someone to go on, and it was filmed in a TV interview by a reputable local TV channel in Saudi.
Showing the direct effect of psychological status on the improvement journey of a chronic illness patient.
All the efforts have been made by the entire ICU nursing and medical team, even though Z has special team members that she prefers:
1) ALAA MOHAMAD, RN ICU
2) Rasha Batayneh, RN ICU
3) Bincy Kuruvilla, RN ICU
4) Josiane Haddad, UM, ICU
One of the different recognitions done by Z for the ICU team was when she conducted a contest of general questions and answers with the help of her father. The winners received small gifts from her side.
The words about Z never end, and her story is still going to show how when we care like family for our family, the effect is huge and priceless.
