This lady is an amazing mentor to all staff, new and old. Her knowledge and skills are outstanding, and she always leads by example in a very supportive, educating manner. She is very approachable and forever teaching us all and sharing her vast knowledge. This lady always looks out for her colleagues, assisting wherever possible while always empowering junior staff to become more confident in new skills. When this nurse is on duty, I know the staff and patients are very safe and looked after to the highest standard. I look up to this nurse with the utmost respect and feel she is extremely worthy of this nomination as she is truly a special asset to any ward, and we are so very lucky to have her here with us. She is the real-life Florence Nightingale.

When I arrived on the ward, this nurse saw that I was uncomfortable and in pain before I even had the chance to tell her. Not only did she get me painkillers, but she settled me into the unit and spent ten minutes chatting with me to distract me from the pain I was in. Throughout the night, she checked on me regularly and offered constant reassurance. Her professionalism and empathy went well beyond the norm.

I would like to nominate this nurse for the care she gives to all her patients, she is an exceptional nurse, she is one of these people who were born to be a nurse, she gives quality care to every person she meets. She tells me she has carried out her duties as a nurse for the past 25 years, she is a true professional with no fuss which puts us her patients at ease.
