She was truly a rock for me and my husband and made our experience calm and easy.
My firstborn was unexpectedly five weeks early, and my delivery was very quick, so when I got pregnant again, I had worries. I made it to 38 weeks when my water broke and I made sure the nursing staff was aware of how quickly I dilated and delivered, especially considering this was my 2nd time. Laurene was by my side the entire time and hardly left the room. She never questioned my desire to not immediately jump to an epidural and made sure I was as comfortable as I could be. My blood pressure was a smidge high, so extra testing was needed, and she did her best not to put me through any unnecessary discomfort. I also hadn’t run into any high blood pressure instances before, so it made me worried, but she explained and answered all my questions, which put me at ease. My labor was all in my hips, and she encouraged me to get on a birthing ball, which almost immediately provided relief and expedited labor unknowingly. Only 10-15 minutes later did I suddenly start feeling the urge to push, and without skipping a beat, she called the attending OB and let them know I was ready. She was truly a rock for me and my husband and made our experience calm and easy. I’m thankful to have had her by my side.
