Rosario took care of me only one night and it was magical, her voice, her intentions, her constant mentions of God and that everything would be well.
I am a 59-year-old grandfather who entered the hospital for stent placement, which could not be done, and I ended up with a coronary bypass surgery. I am a patient with a lot of positive attitude and faith; the post-operative pains were very critical for me, so much so that my sweat wet my clothes and my sheets. Slowly, the door to the intermediate care room opened, and Rosario approached, avoiding turning on the light so as not to disturb me and my family, who had not slept for four days. With her soft voice, she whispered to me what was next. She reassured me a lot; she was the only one who didn't turn on the light and used her cell phone so as not to disturb me. If anyone else had to come in, she did it first, warning them not to disturb the patient and his wife. Although I was always well taken care of by all the staff nurses, Rosario made me remember how much my mother took care of me as a child when I was sick and brought me tea. Rosario took care of me only one night and it was magical, her voice, her intentions, her constant mentions of God and that everything would be well. I felt a lot of peace, tranquility, and security which was in the hands and under the care of the most exceptional and Extraordinary Nurse I have ever known and that I have experience as a patient. Rosario will always be in my heart. God bless her for her vocation, empathy, and her ability to relax and give security to her patients.
