Shannon goes well above and beyond for her patients. The most recent example is when Shannon was caring for an end-of-life patient. Shannon asked, "What is one last thing that you would love to be able to do?"

The patient stated that he would love to have one last dinner date with his wife. After Shannon heard that, she was determined to make this patient's wish come true. Shannon started planning and gathered other individuals who were willing to help make this dream a reality. After her long 12-hour shift, she went out of her way to buy red roses, arranged for lunch to be delivered the next day, and even found a nice button-up shirt for the patient to wear.

The next day, Shannon fulfilled the patient's wish. Down to the wife's favorite flowers and lunch from Olive Garden. She set up battery-powered candles and made sure the patient looked sharp in his button-down collared shirt, his hair nicely combed over.

Shannon is the perfect example of an exemplary nurse. Shannon is compassionate, caring, and empathetic. She treats every patient as a person, truly making a difference to each patient she cares for.
