During discharge planning, a patient told this nurse his wallet, shoes, and clothes were stolen from another hospital. This nurse called the hospital many times to see if their security personnel happened to have these items. She also reached out to our security team and many other people and departments to see if anybody had a pair of shoes. Unfortunately, they did not. Sarah went out and bought the patient a pair of slippers so he could be discharged with shoes on his feet. This patient greatly appreciated this kind and thoughtful gesture. Upon discharge, the patient told Sarah that he didn't know if his water was turned on yet at his home. Sarah went downstairs and bought him some bottles of water and some sandwiches to get him through the weekend. She has such a kind heart, none of this she had to do, but chose to do out of the kindness of her heart. She is a wonderful person and an excellent case manager.
