I was recently blessed enough to give birth to my rainbow baby after a stillborn due to preeclampsia last year. I went in for high blood pressure and was immediately admitted until I gave birth to my son. Throughout my weeklong stay, I had Kim as my nurse. She always was so kind and caring and would reach out to my doctor at the slightest concern. She advocated for me and helped me understand my options, in addition to supporting my decisions throughout my hospital stay. Not only did she go above and beyond, but she always had a smile when she walked in my room. She was so generous and even helped make my fiancé comfortable by providing extra sheets and blankets for him. After I had my son, who unfortunately had to be upstairs in the NICU, she came and checked on me. She helped me coordinate a time to see the lactation consultants to make me feel more confident about breastfeeding. Overall, I had an amazing experience at Cone Health and got to bring home my healthy baby boy after only four days in the NICU. Though all the nurses were great and so kind, nurse Kim made the biggest impact on my hospital stay and my experience with preparing for a very scary and high-risk delivery.
