She took excellent care of my baby, and that was the first night of many that I was able to actually sleep. I trusted my daughter with her wholeheartedly, and sleep I did!!
Priscilla came in at a time when, after 11 years of being a patient at Texas Children's, I was really ready to just throw in the towel with them. Everyone was making major mistakes, and everyone was blaming everyone else. Every Department was blaming another department and it was horrible I just wanted to transfer my daughter out and go somewhere else. When Priscilla came, I was actually talking to the charge nurse, C. When C left, Priscilla came to me and spoke to me and told me how much she respected me. She was hoping that she could go over my baby's medical records to make sure that we were both on the same page because she wanted to do the very best for my daughter. That meant everything in the world to me. It was like I could finally breathe. She had questions that were very important, and I appreciated being allowed to answer them and give clarification to her. When she told me that she hadn't been working long, I was absolutely floored! I explained to her that I was concerned about gas my baby had been having and that really worried me because we had just been in in March for an ileus. Miss Priscilla introduced me to the feral bags that work in conjunction with her feeding pump and her feeding bags. It was a miracle, my baby's stomach went down so much, and she wasn't as fussy. The things this nurse did to make my stay better were insurmountable. I called the patient advocacy back and told them that I had the absolute best nurse on the unit. This young lady earned the DAISY Award for herself and for the hospital. This care that she provided was the care that I had known Texas Children's to provide eight years ago. I pray that in the event we have to come to the Legacy Tower again if we are on the 11th floor, I would be so privileged and blessed to have Miss Priscilla. She took excellent care of my baby, and that was the first night of many that I was able to actually sleep. I trusted my daughter with her wholeheartedly, and sleep I did!! Please give this nurse the honor that she so rightly deserves.
