Becca came into our lives when our family member moved to comfort care for the end of life. Everything she did had the right touch. She used her experience and judgment with end-of-life care to offer suggestions on medications to make sure our family member was comfortable. She included us in every decision and thought about our basic needs as well. When she interacted with our family member, she treated him like she would her own loved one. She listened to our stories and laughed with us. And when she came in just as we started saying 'Our Father,' she joined us quietly without hesitation.

As our family hit hour 36 of this emotional and life-shattering experience, she tiptoed around sleeping sons and daughters sprawled out near their dad for the last time. She put coffee in tired hands and gave endless updates. The light hand on the shoulder as she reassured us she'd be back in a few to check on us, the extra blankets as the night got longer, the diligent way she checked him, rolled him, and put chapstick on him, and perhaps most importantly, she made us feel safe enough to let go and not worry about anything but the last moments we had together. Thank you for giving us that gift, those moments, those memories. You will forever be a part of our story.
