Nurse Bryant's commitment to ensuring that I was not alone during this life-changing ordeal was simply amazing.
I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for Nurse Bryant's sincere thoughtfulness and dedication to her job. Her generosity and thoughtfulness have truly made a difference in my life, and I am deeply appreciative for a I that she did for me while I was at the domiciliary. Let me take the time to explain just how Nurse Bryant displayed unwavering loyalty and dedication to all the veterans, but especially my journey,

First all, I came to the domiciliary as a 62 male, homeless and hooked on crack cocaine. My goal was to come here to Hampton to obtain my sobriety and restart my life. Nurse Bryant was assigned as my Nurse Case Manager. It was about ten days after my arrival that I was called to the clinic for a lab review. Though I don't remember all that was said, I did remember hearing the word Cancer.

I got with Nurse Bryant, who advocated for me and connected me with a neurologist at the VA. When the neurologist met with me, Nurse Bryant went with me to provide support. Once back at the domiciliary, Nurse Bryant again went over what the doctor stated so that I fully understood my options. Nurse Bryant's commitment to ensuring that I was not alone during this life-changing ordeal was simply amazing. The day before the surgery, Nurse Bryant observed me sitting alone. She immediately came over and surmised that I was having mixed emotions about the pending surgery. She immediately referred me to the chaplain, who did a world of Good.
After the surgery, again Nurse Bryant went over and beyond and checked on me every day. She also acted as a liaison between me and my neurologist to ensure I had continued care while in the dom.

To further show how dedicated Nurse Bryant is to her job and veterans, I secured a job in Norfolk and could not get back to Hampton to complete my final discharge, which meant I could not get in the TR house. Nurse Bryant arranged for it to be done via WC. Which allowed me to get discharged and still stay at work.

I am pleased to say that Nurse Bryant is a true DAISY Nurse. She is truly devoted to her job. The residents often speak to how she carries herself with grace, dignity, and without a trace of arrogance. A true professional who represents the VA very well in providing World Class Service to our veterans, homeless or not.

Again, I would like to thank the VA, the domiciliary, and especially Nurse Bryant. You guys literally saved my life, and for that, I will forever be grateful.
