When my mom was in the ER for aspiration pneumonia, Devin listened well to our concerns about how we might best continue caring for mom at home with our palliative care team. She took time to brainstorm options with us and what questions we could ask the doctor. When my mom was admitted, but still didn't have a room, Devin made sure we were able to connect with the hospitalist doctor twice and stayed with us to help us interpret what the doctor was saying. In addition, Devin showed patience and respect with my mom who has difficulty with speech. Devin was surprised that someone had labeled my mom as non-verbal, because with patient listening, she was able to ask for my mom's opinions on things and take her wishes into consideration. Overall, we felt very cared for and felt like we had good assistance in navigating my mom's medical issues during her stay in the ER. Thank you!
