Jennifer sat for hours playing the patient's gospel music, prayed, talked with her, held her hand, and reassured her to the very end.
Jennifer is amazing at her job. She is always nice and willing to help other patients, nurses, and families. She offers whatever resources she can, and if she doesn’t know the answer, she finds someone who does.
We recently had a comfort care patient who withdrew to hospice and had a son who was completely dependent on the patient. The son had a disability and was unaware of a lot of things. Jennifer, along with other C3s ensured he had resources and was well cared for without his parent.
The son was unable to sit with the patient in his final hours of life. After she finished her shift, Jennifer came to sit with the patient so they would not be alone. She sat for hours playing the patient's gospel music, prayed, talked with her, held her hand, and reassured her to the very end. Jennifer went above and beyond what was expected of her on her own time. I can’t thank her enough as the primary nurse of this patient. It was comforting to know the patient wasn’t alone.
