I've been a nurse for over 25 years, worked in different countries, and met great colleagues in my lifetime, but RN Agnes Velasco is truly exceptional. From the day I was admitted until my discharge, she exceeded all expectations with her nursing skills, her genuine care, her bedside manner, and her actions as a patient's advocate. RN Agnes ensured that I received the best possible care from all providers. It was almost the end of her shift when she noticed that my abdomen was distended, I had a high fever, and my pain was so severe that I could barely move. She called the night hospitalist to check on me and was glad that she did because the doctor scheduled me for drainage the following day. My stay at Mills-Peninsula brought me so much comfort, and I will always be grateful for RN Agnes and the rest of the RNs, staff, doctors, nursing assistants, etc.
