I was having a follow up CT done for a spot that was found in my lungs. I was pretty nervous as I was unsure of what the results were going to be. This CT was ordered with contrast, which I have never had before. I am a pretty hard stick so Cathie was brought in to do my IV. Cathie offered to stay with me the whole time as she could tell I was pretty nervous. I told her she did not need to do that as I know how busy nurses are. She insisted on staying with me and talked to me the whole time. She answered any questions that I had, and reassured me that it was all going to be okay, and that we would get through it together. When they went to do the contrast she told me what it was going to feel like and even grabbed my hand right as they started it. Cathie did not need to do this, but she knew I needed the comfort, and I was so thankful for that. I then talked to her about when I would get the results, and she stated that I could call her and go over the results together in person so I did not have to read them alone. I instantly felt better about all of it. Cathie was absolutely amazing, and I am so thankful that she was there with me through it all. Going into the CT, I thought I would be okay and not need the support. After being in there, I did not realize how emotional I would get. Cathie could read that I needed someone before I even knew it myself.
