We recently had a patient in our Swing Bed Program. He challenged us with his resistance to eat. He was offered many food choices but none appealed to him. Courtney worked with this patient day after day to encourage him to eat. She became his favorite. One morning she brought him a Peanut butter milkshake. He lit up and enjoyed every drop. She also knew his favorite treat, vanilla ice cream and she made sure our unit freezer was stocked.

Courtney is one of the kindest nurses I have ever worked with. She always treats her patients with kindness and respect. Her calm demeanor and patience are always demonstrated in even the most challenging of circumstances. I have heard her frequently offer to come in early, stay late, or even come in on her day off to help out with staffing when the census is up.
