Kandas always listens to our new ideas and helps us when we need approval for a new idea. She never discourages an idea to improve the facility and will help us in any way to make it work.
Kandas is a one-of-a-kind assistant nurse manager! She is compassionate about her job and her team. She is a role model to her staff and their development. She has created a positive environment that everyone loves to come to. Kandas is always accessible and available to her team members, even when she is not on the floor. She is always a call or text away, even when it is a weekend or off-the-clock hours. She has also been responsive to our needs on the unit. Kandas has great problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. She will sit down face to face with you and help you think out a problem or encourage you to take the initiative but will be behind you if you need help. Kandas has always been an advocate for our unit. Kandas makes sure that we are put first, listens to our concerns, and brings them up the chain if need be. Kandas made sure during COVID, when our facility was shut down, that her team was taken care of when they took on a new role of helping in the hospital for three months. She did weekly and even daily checks on us to make sure we were comfortable with our role. If we had a concern, she made sure it was addressed ASAP. Kandas is awesome at making sure the needs of our team are being communicated to leadership. We recently asked for a new EKG machine since our machine was really old. After being denied funding, our request was taken to the guild foundation, where Kandas and other team members presented our request for a new EKG machine, which was APPROVED! Kandas always listens to our new ideas and helps us when we need approval for a new idea. She never discourages an idea to improve the facility and will help us in any way to make it work. Kandas is a great leader and deserves this award. She is very present on the floor and very compassionate to her team as well as any patient she comes into contact with if she is helping out on the unit or if she is delivering service recovery to a patient!
