Rita was my nurse for my right eye cataract surgery on Thursday at Glenbrook Outpatient Surgery Center. I have a Power Port-A-Cath in my right chest due to poor vein access. She was training a younger nurse. Rita walked her trainee through each step one by one on how to insert the IV into the port to teach her how to do it perfectly (and when she deactivated the port after the surgery, she did the same thing but backward). I actually learned a couple of new bits of information. I have had a few ports in my lifetime and never knew a few things that Rita taught her and me that day. Not only is Rita a true professional, a kind, compassionate, and a caring nurse, she is a wonderful human being who should blessed with nothing but good health, happiness, and joy forever.
