Travis is a compassionate RN and an excellent patient advocate. He approaches every patient visit/assignment with a profound sense of responsibility.
Travis is an expert critical care nurse with many years of experience in the Emergency Department and now the Rapid Response Team (RRT). He maintains his certification through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and is thoroughly knowledgeable and well skilled. He is a very resourceful critical thinker, a good team player, and collaborator. He is a charge nurse, preceptor, and a super user of multiple types of equipment in the unit for the RRT. He is always respectful in his interactions with patients, peers, supervisors, providers, and staff across all departments.

Travis is a compassionate RN and an excellent patient advocate. He approaches every patient visit/assignment with a profound sense of responsibility. Travis always performs a thorough patient assessment to identify patient needs. He tries his best to meet any needs he identifies and exceed any expectations. Travis readily offers support to his peers in RRT and to the nurses and staff on the floor to ensure excellent care for patients. He identifies teachable moments and provides guidance to staff, both planned and off-the-cuff sessions.

Travis is enthusiastic about patient safety. He constantly collaborates with others to prevent risk for harm and improve patient outcomes. He serves as a constant supporter and champion of post-fall c-spine precautions. He has advocated for RRT to get a spinal board and c-collars for speedy interventions. After receiving this equipment, he trained and checked off RRT nurses on correct spinal precautions. He is currently checking off staff on Hemocue - point of care hemoglobin testing to ensure timely hemoglobin results and timely interventions for patients.

Travis respects patient confidentiality - always logging off a computer before walking away and does not discuss patient related issues in public areas. Travis reminds the team of HIPAA violations whenever a peer starts a conversation related to a patient in a public forum hence shutting down such discussions.

Travis is committed to creating a clean and safe environment for the team. He keeps a good supply of surface disinfectants in the RRT office and makes sure to disinfect work surfaces at the beginning and end of his shift. He regularly requests housekeepers to clean the carpet in our office and schedules to have the Xenex UV disinfection done for the office.
