I would like Sarah to be recognized for being extra careful and bringing to my attention that a patient scheduled with us today had signs and symptoms of a potential stroke. Based on her diligence we were able to get her to where she can get proper care of stroke. Patient was a past stroke survivor as well.

Good morning, I wanted to let you know that you have some exceptional staff working in your clinics. Yesterday afternoon my daughter was seen in the allergy clinic on the 5th floor. The nurse and tech were great! The nurse was Sarah Carroll. My Daughter had an anaphylactic reaction to the allergy testing and required swift medical attention. Sarah was so quick to get her meds and alert the doctor. She was there as my daughter used her Epi pens and got her down to the ER safely. She stayed with her and advocated for her in the ED to get her evaluated rapidly. She even took her back to Resus and stayed to give the staff report. I think a lot of the time the clinic staff are not as highly recognized as those in the critical care areas. I would like to ask that they both be formally recognized for their quick action with my daughter. Their timely response during a life-threatening situation was brisk and effective. Had they not taken the actions they had, the situation could have been much worse. Unfortunately, we have lots of experience with anaphylaxis, but we also recognize that not everyone else does. We were just so very fortunate to have two pros caring for my daughter yesterday. On our way out of the ED, my daughter specifically asked me to write this saying, "Mom, I think that those two should have their pictures on the TV for what they did today." she was referring to the employee of the month board that shows on the TV screens. I said I agree, they should!”
