I know I can not speak for others' experiences but I can say for the rest of my life, my son’s life and my family that that act of kindness will never be forgotten.
My wife and I had to bring our son into the PICU because of a rare case of meningitis caused by salmonella. We were distraught and were just lost mentally. We constantly prayed for our son and were struggling through everything. It was just so much so fast. Nurse Morgan Crouch was one of his first nurses in the PICU. She was so nice and considerate. She helped explain everything to us and what was going on when we asked questions. She was nice and considerate and would give us updates on improvements or if he did something like opening his eyes, moving around at all or any new developments that might have happened overnight while we slept back at the Ronald McDonald house. She comforted us knowing while we went back to the Ronald McDonald house, our son would be taken care of and did a great job at letting us know our son was in good hands. There is a board in the rooms where you can write notes for either doctors or patients and she wrote every little victory he had while we were gone. I know I can not speak for others' experiences but I can say for the rest of my life, my son’s life and my family that that act of kindness will never be forgotten. It touched my heart so deeply I cried and it really got me through some dark moments reading his little victories over night. Other nurses would then add little notes and words of encouragement as well. She left such a positive impact on our family that I will never forget and not only did she bring help to my son but also to our family. I prayed to God everyday for help for my son and our family and I truly believe God sent her to help us. There were also so many other staff members who were a blessing to us and honestly everyone was beyond amazing. I can not say one negative thing about the entire staff but nurse Morgan will always have a long lasting positive effect on my family both physically in my son’s recovery and mentally for my wife and I.
