Jessica has the heart and commitment you hope every nurse has.
My husband and I are legal guardians of a young man with autism who was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital on August 11 after just being released from the hospital on August 9. While we had a wonderful experience with all the nurses, techs, food service, and hospitalists during his stays, it was Jessica, the weekend day nurse on the 4th floor Intermediate Care Unit - that truly made an impression. Her kindness and care for him went above and beyond. He asks a lot of questions - and I mean A LOT. Jessica found him and his curiosity endearing. She took the time to answer ALL his questions. When it came time to release him from the hospital, Jessica called me at home at 6:30 pm. (I had just arrived home at 5:30 pm after being with Justin all day). I told her I would get there right away to pick him up. I knew Jessica was getting off at 7:00 pm. She told me not to rush that she would stay and wanted to be the one who released him. I arrived quickly but Jessica remained until 7:30 to be the one to place him in my car. She is a young woman and has only been a nurse for 1-1/2 years. Jessica has the heart and commitment you hope every nurse has. Your hospital is fortunate to have her on staff.
