I've never remembered the name of a nurse. In fact, I can barely recall the name of doctors or dentists I see regularly. Danae is a name that I will never forget forever.  When I think about the experience I had with the recent delivery of my second born, how different it was as compared to the first, and how amazing the experience was, the difference comes down to Danae. 

From the moment she took me back that Thursday morning, her presence was warm, uplifting, and incredibly comforting.  My nerves seemed to cease with her energy and positivity.  She truly was a ray of sunshine, and her smile was evident even under the mask. Not only was she wonderful to talk to from a personal perspective, but she was truly knowledgeable and made the labor and delivery a wonderful experience for me, encouraging me, walking me through each step, talking me through each contraction, etc.  She is exactly who I needed there with me! 

It is evident that she loves what she does, but it takes an extraordinary person and nurse to make a patient feel like she made me feel that day.  Metro and all the patients who have had the opportunity to work with Danae are truly blessed.  She deserves to be celebrated for the way she approaches her work and the care she provides to those she serves.  My husband, our newest bundle, and I are so thankful for her. While every labor and delivery nurse is special, Danae is truly on another level, and we will always remember her.
