She always looked for new opportunities and ways to better help us out, even as far as giving us breaks to get rest or go outside and get a breath of fresh air!
Ammye was our primary day shift nurse when my wife and I had our son T.  Ammye was an angel sent to us; in all aspects, she provided amazing care to both my wife and son, all the while teaching me tips and tricks on how to care for mom and baby.  Ammye, I felt, went above and beyond!  She always looked for new opportunities and ways to better help us out, even as far as giving us breaks to get rest or go outside and get a breath of fresh air!  I knew that T was in good hands when he went to go stay with Nurse Ammye.

In one instance during labor, Ammye helped us get the epidural just in time, something she was even praised for by the doctor.

In another instance, near the time of discharge, my wife and I both felt we were ready to go home.  The on-duty pediatrician had some concerns about the baby’s feeding time, and we were told we might have to stay another day. We felt like he was feeding regularly and making good progress.  Ammye was an awesome advocate for us. We made sure to get a picture with Ammye before we left, documenting the impact she made on our lives as we started our new journey as first-time parents!

***

Ammye was so respectful and nice.  She remembered my wife and me from a previous doctor's visit.  She listened and continued to explain things to us so we understood what could happen.  We chose to go to UT Health because of how nice they are and how they treat us like family.  We will continue coming here to welcome our babies to the world.
