When I wasn't found in my room for change-of-shift, Delaney came and found me crying in the lobby. She gave me a big hug and some comfort when I needed it most.
So I was truthfully the worst postpartum patient. Never in my room, hard to get a hold of. Our baby was in the NICU so I was constantly down there. One of the days was particularly bad, and he was not doing well. I was really not ok. When I wasn't found in my room for change-of-shift, Delaney came and found me crying in the lobby. She gave me a big hug and some comfort when I needed it most. My wife couldn't be at the hospital (we had a toddler at home) and we have no family locally so that little moment was so meaningful. Then, when I eventually went back to my room, she left me a sweet uplifting note. It is these little acts of kindness that make nurses truly special. Not only did she provide me with excellent postpartum care, but she cared for me as a friend/family member would. It is these little gestures that make all the difference in care and made my stay more tolerable (I was truly distraught and so scared for my son). That hug and note got me through the hardest night of my life. I'm grateful for all the care I received on 3700/3800, but especially from Delaney.
