Tommy lives our mission in many little things he does that no one even sees. He frequently reaches into his own pocket to help patients he hasn't even had contact with but whom he has heard are having some sort of struggle. Most recently, Tommy heard of a homeless mother with a 9-year-old son. She was hospitalized. Tommy bought the child a coat, backpack and some educational books and puzzles to work. I am told the little boy was thrilled, and some of the staff were seen helping him with his 'homework.' This is only one of many stories like this where Tommy has stepped in to give someone a bit of a lift for their day. He never says a word about these things; he does them.
