My sister has been in the hospital several times in the last year. This time she has been there almost 2 weeks. There were 3 different nurses her first few days. Then came Keri La Velle. She was there 3 days in a row! What a blessing. She was so caring, so compassionate. She would always explain things to us.
When she called for a rapid response, she came and told us about all the people who would be rushing to the room and not to be scared. It was a preventative measure to reduce her heart rate. She would come in and tell us if she was waiting for a doctor’s order for meds.
When she would leave, she would let us know she might not be right back. Once she had to admit someone new and once, she had to discharge someone. She didn’t say “I’ll be right back” and not be right back.
She was more helpful and compassionate than any other nurse I have seen in a long time. When I found out she wouldn’t be back the 4th day I had to give her a big hug and thank her for all she did for my sister and my family! She is truly an angel and is definitely in the right profession. She deserves all the adulation you can give to a nurse. So warm, so caring, so helpful, so attentive. I won’t forget her.
