During our daughter's 9-day stay in the PICU, Lori Krell was our nurse for multiple of those days. During this time, Lori was present in our hospital room when we received various rounds of diagnoses and tough news and was very supportive, caring and compassionate. Lori was respectful of our space but also gave our daughter so much love, hope and extra care. When she was our nurse, we knew our daughter was in the best hands and could rest a little bit more. Lori would go out of her way to make sure our daughter was cared for and comfortable, but would also do anything she could for us, as parents. Lori was a bright face walking into our room and we could see our daughter relax when she heard Lori's voice. She would check in and offer her time as much as she could; we never felt as though our daughter was off of her mind. Lori demonstrated extraordinary clinical expertise and a calmness in our hospital room even when emotions were high. When it came to our daughter’s care, Lori went above and beyond as long as we were in the PICU and she was our RN. Lori was extremely compassionate with our daughter in the way she spoke to her and cared for her. When we transferred out of the PICU and were no longer in Lori's care, she went above and beyond by visiting our daughter to see how she was progressing. During our stay in the PICU, Lori was observed to be selfless, sweet, caring, and an overall extraordinary RN. We are extremely thankful for her and how she went above and beyond for our family, especially our daughter. We truly believe Lori was one reason our daughter recovered so quickly. Thank you, Lori!
