One morning, a patient was admitted to a specific unit. Later that afternoon, he was confined. Norman discovered that the patient had not urinated since that morning and into the evening. Demonstrating exceptional care and concern, he opted for a compassionate approach over the invasive procedure of catheterization. He applied hot and cold compresses alternately to the patient’s lower abdomen and opened the bathroom faucet, as the sound of flowing water can sometimes stimulate urination.His thoughtful actions led to relief for the patient, who began to urinate periodically until all the consumed fluids had been expelled—a tremendous relief.

His efforts were deeply appreciated. He exemplifies more than just a nurse performing his duties; he is a nurse who carries out his job with love and concern for his patients. His eagerness to learn from his colleagues was also evident. When he noticed that the monitor attached to the patient was not functioning, he attempted to fix it before seeking help from his colleagues. It was only later that I learned he was new to the department. God Bless him more. We truly appreciate and commend him for the care, concern, and dedication he has shown in his duties. Because of his actions, we will inform our friends and relatives that the staff at MMC are truly trustworthy in their service.
