This wonderfully compassionate and caring young nurse was assigned to my elderly husband, who has been in and out of Valley Hospital multiple times. Among other things, he suffers from chronic diarrhea and often has serious bouts which are unpleasant both to my husband as well as to the caregivers.

For this patient, to have an accident is a humiliating embarrassment, and for a nurse, it is certainly not pleasant to take care of the situation and the patient. In the case of my husband’s recent hospitalization, he had such an experience resulting from colon cancer a few years ago and two colon resections. Sara Post attended to him during the above-mentioned hospitalization. The kindness and professional way in which she immediately handled the situation and ensured that my husband maintained his dignity and did not feel humiliated demonstrated a level of care and compassion far beyond Ms. Post’s age. She appeared to us like an intelligent, articulate, compassionate, and genuine nurse. She is an asset to the Valley staff. I am a member of the Women for Health group, and I believe in recognizing valuable caregivers at this hospital. I wanted to acknowledge Sara Post.
