I got into a car accident and was admitted to the hospital for the first time ever. I was scared and nervous, and my nurse went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. She took her time listening to me and my problems and was very attentive whenever she entered the room. Every time I asked for something she quickly helped me with a smile. She was constantly asking how I was feeling and if what she was doing to me was OK and comfortable. She helped me relax and feel heard. I felt as if she truly cared about my well-being, and I felt I was not just another patient to her. She took the time to explain what she was doing to me and even showed me how to check my own capillary refill. She helped keep the mood and atmosphere light when I was scared and upset. She was very comforting to have as a nurse.
