Jason was able to build our confidence in the whole picture. He definitely has a gift and experience in the diabetic world.
It all started when my fiancé wasn't feeling very well and was very thirsty and tired. I finally took him to the hospital, and he was diagnosed with Diabetic Ketosis. He was admitted to the hospital, and they started giving him fluids and meds. They started him on insulin, and he was getting better. The nurses would sometimes have him try to dial his pen and inject himself so he could learn to do this. With them being on a tight schedule with the other patients I know they didn't have a lot of time to assist him as he needed. We had dietary come to the room to help us with meal planning and also the diabetic clinic came to see him. I was getting the understanding of counting carbs, what he should eat, and what not to eat, but he really wasn't. He was always so tired and he really didn't want to deal with it. The day came for him to go home, and he was very scared. He didn't feel comfortable enough giving himself insulin and wasn't sure I understood enough to be by ourselves with nobody to ask questions to. He then mentioned to the nurse that he would like to talk to someone about all this before they released him. Then it was just a few moments, and then Jason came in. He was our blessing in disguise. He sat down with us, gave examples, and asked us what our questions were and how we felt about the whole issue. He didn't act like he was in a hurry and that he was there for us. He was able to build our confidence in the whole picture. He definitely has a gift and experience in the diabetic world. After we had asked everything we thought we needed, he also gave us his business card with his personal number in case anything came up over the weekend or any time we needed help with. As it happened, I called him once, and he was so helpful and nice again. We could never have gone home with at least been comfortable with what we had ahead of us. I want to thank him so much. We really appreciate everything he did for us.
